PRIYANK KRISHNA was born in a musician family of Allahabad (Prayagraj). His formal training of classical music was with his father, the prominent Clarinet player, Pt. Ram Krishna. Having accompanied him in various music concerts, today Priyank Krishna is carving out a niche for himself particularly in the field of Saxophone. His recitals combine the melody of Gayaki and intricacies of Tantrakari Style, and are received well by audiences and music critics alike. He also plays the traditional Indian Flute (Bansuri). He has performed in various prestigious music concerts like Alchemy Festival (London), Shared History festival (South Africa), Dranouter Festival (Belgium), Embassy of India (Ukraine), Ethno Music Festival (Germany), World Music Festival (Thailand), Summer Festival (Delhi), Vishnu Digambar Sammelan (Agra), IIHBT (Himachal) , Jaipur Samaroh, Taj Mahotsav (Agra), Uttaradhikar (Bhopal) etc. He has been honored with “Sangeet Kala Gaurav Award” & “Naad Saadhak” title by Sangeet Kala Kendra, Agra, and has won many competitions in which 1st prize in U.P.Sangeet Natak Akademi (Lucknow), 2nd prize in Inter-University National Youth Festival (2013) held in Kalyani University, Kalyani (W.B.), 1st prize in Youth Fest Agra University (3 times ), 1st prize in Harivallabh Music Competition, 2nd prize in Inter-State Youth Festival (Varanasi), etc. are noticeable. He has been an active member of Agra University’s Cultural team for four years. He is also a recipient of “Scholarship for Young Artiste” by Ministry of HRD, New Delhi. He has been part of some of the most prestigious music ensembles of the country and on an international level, performed with Mame Khan - Coke Studio fame, Rajasthan Roots and Kutle Khan Project, just to name a few. Currently while performing regularly on stage concerts, he is implementing his thoughts, creative ideas as a Secretary for “RAM KRISHNA FOUNDATION”.
